We are searching for our next experienced Quality Control Coordinator (a.k.a. "Skin Doctor") with a demonstrated ability in all phases of frame and exterior finish carpentry. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years' experience in multi-family residential and/or commercial building, and possesses extensive knowledge of wood framing, siding, window and door installation, and metal flashings. Experience in the installation of low-slope roofing is a plus.

You will be responsible for:

  • Review of the plans, specifications, submittals, and RFI's to have a firm grasp of the project requirements.
  • Daily review and monitoring of building envelope work being installed on all areas of the site.
  • Maintaining clear and thorough documentation of work in process, utilizing photos notes and videos, which are then uploaded as digital files to project folders.
  • Maintaining a daily log of on-site activities including work by subcontractors and Walsh crew members, and material deliveries. Log to be periodically reviewed with superintendent and Quality Manager.
  • Facilitating communication with and between installers, and ensuring that all are aware of their responsibilities for completing each scope of work.
  • Notifying installers, Quality Manager and Superintendent when deficiencies are found in means, methods, or completed work.
  • Follow-up and documentation to verify correction of defective work.

You are qualified if:

  • You hold a high school diploma (or equivalent); Some additional training in building science or construction management is preferred.
  • You have a minimum of five (5) years' experience in wood or steel frame construction.
  • You can demonstrate experience in multi-family residential, commercial, tenant improvement, and/or rehab construction.
  • You possess basic computer skills including use of Outlook, Excel, reading and marking up PDF files, and transfer of data with mobile devices.
  • You are a positive team player who is skilled in efficiency, organization, and multi-tasking. Must be comfortable communicating with trade workers, product representatives, architects, consultants, and owners in a manner that represents RDF in strict accordance with its core values of Safety, Integrity, Quality, and Competency and Innovation.
