WALSH is looking for several interns for Summer 2018 in Seattle, WA. Our Internship Program offers you a hands-on role, working alongside crews on active job sites to build your experience and skill set.  You will be challenged and asked to work hard in a supportive team environment where you can put your classroom knowledge to work.  You will have the opportunity to work under construction experts on a variety of projects from field to office to find the path that is right for you.  You will be matched to a mentor within the WALSH family to guide you on your career path and help build your skills and interests.  As part of our Internship Program, your mentor will also help you select college courses that align with your career path and goals. Our goal is to give you a thorough understanding of what you can do with your career in construction.

Typical field opportunities (70-80%):

  • Layout of civil and utility activities
  • Use of Laser/ linker rod, theadolite, builders level
  • Installing rain liters, rain drains
  • Provide quality control of exterior cladding
  • Work with our highly skilled crews (get your hands dirty)
  • Punch list activities
  • Inventory control
  • Project closeout
  • Quality control tasks

Typical office opportunities (20-30%):

  • Prepare submittal entries and log updates
  • Solicit and organize subcontract bids
  • LEED management and coordination tasks
  • Post and track RFI's
  • Update drawings/as-builts
  • Quantity take offs
  • Assemble closeout materials including O & M manuals, as-built drawings and warranties
  • Create materials lists for purchasing
